It’s hard to imagine that every person that we pass on the street has a complex and intricate life, just like our own. You don’t know them – but they have their own web of lies they’ve spun too. They have people they care about too. They have problems too.
And those people you left behind? The ones you deemed too hard to handle, the ones who broke your heart, hurt your feelings, and left a bad taste in your mouth – they continued to exist after you forgot all about them. They’re not really gone just because you squeezed your eyes real tight, made a wish, and unfollowed them on Twitter.
Just because I don’t want to see your face doesn’t mean I don’t want you to be happy. Especially in cases where I was in the wrong and still decided to end our friendship. We all make mistakes. We probably both made mistakes. And I can’t just pretend that I want your life to be a living hell because you momentarily made my life that way. It was a moment, one I’ve forgotten all about. And we all need to go through a little hell to get to the good part, right?
So, I want you to be happy. I don’t want you to be single for the rest of your life if that’s not what you want. I’m glad you moved on. I’m glad you’re doing well in school. I’m glad you got that job. I’m happy that you’re happy.
This is amazing and not easy to say to someone who might have really hurt you. Great text. xx

Thank you! Definitely took me a while to get to this place, but holding on to unhappy feelings just makes things worse.
