I don’t care who you are, I know you’ve been through a lot. Your sucky circumstances might not be as bad as the person next to you, but that doesn’t mean they’re not important. That doesn’t mean they don’t hurt you the same way.
Sometimes we reach lows in our life where we feel like giving up. Sometimes they last forever, we have no idea how long we’ll be stuck in the dark for. Other times they only last a short while and we shake it off, waiting for the next wave to hit us.
Maybe there’s not always something to be grateful for. Maybe it’s just hard to see at this point in your life. But there will be something to be grateful for in the future, there is always something you can be thankful for.
Those are the things you need to hold onto in life. One day you’ll reach such a high you’ll see the magnitude of things that you are grateful for. All the things you were once blind to. The journey is rough, but you’ll get there.
And then you’ll be so thankful for the career you’re excelling in. And you will feel so blessed to have friends that love you like you’ve never been loved before. And you’ll be so grateful for the ongoing support from your family. Even from the people around you that you never expected it from.
So try to remember, when you’re sad and in the dark, to always be grateful. Even if it’s just for having air to breathe today. Because in the future, there will be even more to be grateful for. And if you dip back down again, you’ll know you’ll always have those things.
Write them down, the little things in life that you are so happy to have. Or thank them – if it’s a person, or a dog, or your cellphone – thank the big things in life that you are so happy to have. Be grateful for the things you have in life, because there are people who are grateful to have you in their life. I promise.
Very touching post….but I wonder who would possibly be grateful that I was in their life? Everybody that I always thought would….aren’t. Sigh.

They would be the only ones I would honestly say are. That does offer comfort and I am truly grateful for that.

You’re most welcome. Thanks for reminding me this is only temporary. It’s amazing how quickly someone can become overwhelmed and lose hope!
