Thanks Sub Soare for nominating me to do this! It’s hard to even think of all the books I’ve read, many of them have actually never made a huge impact on me. Here are ten books that changed my life, kind of in order:
- The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton
- Burned by Ellen Hopkins
- Crank by Ellen Hopkins
- The Perks of Being A Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky
- Twilight Saga by Stephenie Meyers (don’t judge me guys!!)
- 19 Minutes by Jodi Picoult
- The Hunger Games Trilogy by Suzanne Collins
- The Divergent Trilogy by Veronica Roth
- Leftovers by Laura Weiss
- How It Ends by Laura Weiss
Of course each book has a very special reason as to why they made the list – but I think it’s more fun not to share 🙂 Let me know if you’ve read any of these or if you have any book recommendations!
I’m nominating a few people to do this, but you’re not obligated to 🙂

Hey, nice that you decided to do this. Interesting list, I haven’t heard about some authors and books so thanks for it! The book I like the most from your list ia “The Perks of being a Wallflower”, great book.

Definitely a great book – made a huge difference in my life in high school 🙂

The majority of them are older books. I really like classic tales. I would have put every Jane Austen book on the list but I chose my favorite.

No problem 🙂 The Perks of Being a Wallflower was my go to book in high school!

The Twilight Saga is one that’s on my list too, I know it sounds a bit dramatic but if I’d never read the books I wouldn’t be the person I am today hahaha, ages 14-16 were dedicated to it!!

Same!! I had a whole new idea about love after that book, it took up a good chunk of my teen years lol

It’s one of those series where I just became obsessed with the characters 🙂

The Outsiders, but it was an awful long time ago! 😀

I was in 7th grade the last time I read it, I don’t think I want to read it again because it won’t be the same!

Same here. I went through a Robert Cormier, Paul Zindel phase back then as well 😀
Some stories still keep growing with you though. I often re-read my favourite Diana Wynne Jones books, but I’m wouldn’t call them life changing.

It’s almost like they’re life changing because they remind me of a significant point in my life – most of the books on this list weren’t really life changing for me. I’ll check out some of those authors you name dropped 🙂

Great. I did read them as a teenager, so they might not be life changing either 😀

Lila: An Inquiry into Morals focused and changed my perspective. Not an easy read, but worth the time in the end. The author is Robert Persig. Many people don’t know this book, but have heard of his first book Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance.

I’ll look into it 🙂

I was ‘forced’ to read The Outsiders way back in high school. It made me appreciate reading and classic books even more than I already did.

I was forced to read it in middle school, almost all the books I was forced to read in school never stuck with me but this one did!
