Everything Gets Better Eventually

You know those times where you just feel like you’ve hit rock bottom? Like you’ve made friends with this hole in the ground and you wouldn’t mind being buried in it?

Those times where you feel so low, that the idea of seeing the sky again is laughable.

We all go through those times at one point in our lives. Some of us only go through it for a couple of hours or a day or two. Some suffer through months of it. Some drag it with them through years of their lives.

You’re not alone, you never were. We will all hit our version of rock bottom.

But you should know, that when you are at the bottom of something and you continue to fight to get out of it – you can only go up from there. It’s not going to get worse. It might stay the same for a while. But everything will get better, eventually.

One day you’ll have friends who really love you. Another day everything will be mended with your family. You will find your true path. Every relationship won’t feel disappointing. It will get better.

I can’t tell you when or how or why. And I know we all get impatient when we’re waiting for the steady climb out of rock bottom to finally start happening – but it takes time. We’re all on different schedules. Your low and my low aren’t the same, but we will fall out of them in time.

The bad times are so much easier to focus on than the good times. We often take the good times for granted, only ever remembering the bad. So when things do get better eventually, which I know they will, hold on tight to those happy times. Keep them with you for when you feel not so great again. That way you’ll know for next time that everything gets better eventually.
