I have fully accepted the fact that I am an adult. I’m 23, feel like I’m still an insecure 16 year old, but somehow work a 9-5 job, pay bills, and have to figure out how taxes work like yesterday. Here are 8 weird things I enjoy now that I have accepted adulthood:
- Grocery shopping
I like checking all of the nutrition facts and shopping local, like I’ve gotten weirdly passionate about it. - Coupons
I save $6 on a $30 purchase at CVS and it was the highlight of my day. - Having a day to get my errands done
I spent my Sunday cleaning, running errands, and doing laundry instead of being hungover and miserable… - Working
I often have flashbacks to when I worked part time at a movie theater in high school and how horrid it was. - Not going out
I really enjoy not drinking every weekend, like a lot. Like, how did I ever do that in college? - Cooking dinner
I get so excited when I actually make something healthy instead of scarfing down a Taco Bell burrito in my car (I still do this sometimes though). - Paying off my credit card
I should be sad to see all that money go, but I’m actually just happy I make money now. - Being boring
Call me lame, boring, a wet towelΒ – WHATEVER! I just want to lay in my pj’s after work and eat ice cream. I don’t care!
Those things don’t sound boring at all. They sound like a responsible person! π

haha they may mean I’m responsible, but I’m not sure they’re exactly fun!

Love the list! Even now at an older age I get flashes of how did I get here? I still see myself as the 25 -30 year old.

I think life is just as confusing whether you’re 16, 25, or 50 lol

I agree with all of these except the credit card one; I like to make money and keep money. Spending it is a pain. Maybe it won’t be so bad once my student loans are paid off and I have more money to throw else where. π Thanks for sharing!

Ah so true! It’s just satisfying for me to be able to actually pay for the things I’m buying! Thanks for reading π

:))) Definitely! I thought I’m the only one! I am not as eager as I used to be about going out…can’t I just lay in bed. Wine is cheaper at home…and more…and cozy π

I LOVE coupons! lol I never thought I would feel such a thrill when I save money on a single item or a bunch of items. I also enjoy staying in and relaxing :D.

OMG YES SAME. I spent two weekends out: one back home and one in Seattle, and it made me SO exhausted and frustrated throughout the week because then I had to figure out how to get chores done with work. Then this weekend I had all to myself I spent it cleaning and going grocery shopping and watching Netflix and it was amazing.

πππ I can totally relate. And yes I enjoy being an adult. Yes there’s alot of responsibility but it’s worth having your own time and all that. And I would choose being boring over the alternativeππ.

I’m with you. Being an adult is wonderful. Keep it up! Though if there was a Taco Bell right now I’d definitely go for the burrito (or nachos, or crunch wrap….). Now I’m hungry.
