Sometimes making the most out of your weekends means driving 4 hours on a rainy day.
Last weekend I went to Storm King Art Center which is located in New Windsor, NY. It’s a sculpture garden that features different installations over 500 acres. It was an absolutely stunning and vast place. The sculptures and installations felt larger than life and you kind of just felt like you were in the little piece of the world not many people know about.
It has been more than fifty years after its founding and Storm King continues to grow and evolve. It is among the world’s leading sculpture parks.
We managed to walk through most of the land, but a rainy day held us back and we ended up giving up and heading to a yummy Mexican place less than 10 minutes from the center (it was called Avocado and I highly recommend).
While Storm King closes in just a few short weeks, it’s something I definitely recommend putting on your to-do list if you live on the East Coast – or if you plan on visiting soon! I’m sure it’s even more beautiful in spring and summer!
Wow, the place seems to be amazingly beautiful!!
