5k Q&A

Thanks so much to everyone who asked me questions! It’s been a fun ride here on RosieCulture and I’m so happy to have so many great blogging friends here.

A lot of people asked something along the lines of: how do you grow your blog quick?

My answer to that is, you’re asking the wrong person lol. I’ve been blogging for 6 years so my growth has been anything but quick. I don’t have high web traffic, just a good amount of WordPress followers and decent engagement on here. So my only good tip is to engage with other bloggers, read the content that you want to write about that others are putting out, and consistently put out content.

What is one of the things that make you happy?

My dog and my nieces and nephew!

If you could travel (for fun) anywhere in the world at no expense, where would you go?

I would probably choose to do a big luxurious trip to Greece.

Top 5 thrift finds?

  1. My fake leather jacket I got from a thrift store in New Hampshire
  2. My evil eye ring I got from a thrift store in New Hampshire
  3. A corduroy button up I got from Goodwill
  4. My jean jacket embroidered with cats I got from Poshmark
  5. My Banana Republic blazer that fits like a glove, I got it at a consignment in New Hampshire

If you could live and work anywhere in the world, where would it be?

Right now, I miss New Hampshire a lot so I’d go back there 🙂

Has India attracted you as an amazing tourist destination? Do you plan to pay a visit in the future!

It’s never been in any of my top places to go, but I would sure love to visit!

Is punk really dead?

Nope!

What are the three most important lessons you’ve learned along your blogging journey?

Don’t take things too seriously, do it for yourself, and engage engage engage.

Did you monetize your blog? If so, what kinds of things do you do? Eg. Affiliate marketing

Nope! I sort of monetize my Instagram but I have been getting away from that. I do sponsored posts for brands.

Is there a reason you haven’t gotten married?

I don’t want kids, so that’s my biggest driver in not getting married right away. Because I don’t want kids, I don’t see a need or a rush to get married. If I ever do it’ll probably be for more financial/healthcare reasons.

Do you have any hidden talents?

I can roll my stomach, but as I get older it’s not a party trick I show many people lol

Have you ever had a near death experience? If so, explain.

When I was in 1st or 2nd grade I almost drowned in a pool at some kids birthday party. And then the only other experience that comes to mind is when my boyfriend and I had plans to go to this art exhibit, but we changed our plans and there was a shooting at the exhibit that night.

How many tattoos do you have and are you planning on getting another one any time soon?

I have 3 and I think I’d like to get 2 more.

For various reasons, I’ve never been a fan of New Jersey, but I know you love it there. What would you say to try and change my mind?

New Jersey reminds me a lot of New England in the aspects that it has the beach, mountains, farms, and close cities all in one state. It’s the best of everything! Great music has been born here and the music scene has always been unmatched. Besides that, we have our own culture, attitude, and personality traits that I just love.

Did you ever have one of those ‘blogging slumps’, where you just felt completely demotivated to do anything with the blog? If so, any tips on how to overcome them?

All the time! I think about deleting my blog/IG at least once a month. I just remind myself that I blog for me and not the numbers in those instances.

What is something your dog does that cheers you up?

Kaya is part husky so she is very chatty. Her backtalk always makes me laugh, she’s super sassy.

Have you ever travelled to a place that didn’t live up to your expectations?

Yes! I don’t have a lot of great things to say about our trip to Egypt. The history, culture, etc. is AMAZING but the experience as a tourist really left a bad taste in my mouth. We were just being asked for money 24/7.
