If We Were Having Coffee – January

If we were having coffee, catching up on the month that’s flown by, you’d probably ask me – how was your New Years?

I’d tell you that unfortunately my fiancé and I caught COVID celebrating Christmas Eve with my family. We never really got terribly sick, but quarantined for the first 10 days of January so it was quite a boring start to the month.

And you’d say that’s such a bummer, did you at least read any good books or watch any good shows?

That’s about all I did! We binged Maid on Netflix and I want to read the book it’s based off of. I also read It Ends With Us and Verity by Colleen Hoover, as well as A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J Maas.

Wow! Do you have any goals for the New Year?

I’ve set my word for the year, but I also rekindled my love of reading and downloaded Goodreads. I set my goal for 30 books this year.

That sounds great, did you do anything fun?

I tried a hot chocolate ranks top 25 in the US and CA by Yelp! And visited a photo pop up at a local mall. Besides that, it was a pretty low key month, I’ve really been enjoying spending time home with my dogs.

What about you? Tell me one fun thing from your January in the comments!

  1. After a 2 year hiatus I was able to go snowboarding again!! I also finally found a bar cart on FB Marketplace to use as a mobile plant stand I’ve been searching for for months and I am smitten.

  2. Like you and your fiance, my January was pretty low-key. I did discover late night reruns of Fantasy Island on a local TV station. It’s on too late for me to stay up and watch but I’ve been recording them. I remember watching this show as a child. Very good 😊👍.

  3. I was sick end of the month (it’s not covid but a very bad head cold, Day 8) and was depressed beginning of January. I didn’t do anything out of the ordinary this month and tried to do basic things, like go for walks outside etc. I played a lot of ACNH on the switch, more than I’d like to admit.

      1. I have quite a few that I’ve done repeatedly. This was a private party with about 10 people, so I got to sing a lot. I opened the night with All I Want by Toad the Wet Sprocket, and closed the night with Hammer to Fall by Queen, which totally blows out my voice (even though I sung it a whole step lower, in the key of G instead of A) which is why I saved it for last. In between, among others, I also did Mama I’m Coming Home, which surprised my friend who didn’t expect Ozzy Osbourne to have sung slow songs.
