I was a reader as a kid. And then all through adulthood I swore up and down I was a reader, but only read like 2 books a year. In the beginning of the year, I read 2 books that absolutely reignited my love of reading and they are Verity by Colleen Hoover and A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J Maas.
They might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but they put me on a reading journey. I kept updating my Goodreads goal as I read more and more, finally setting on a goal of 50 books in a year. And I reached 52 books!
Now, I would never recommend these to anyone without knowing their taste in books because I don’t read to think hard or learn things lol And I rate books on how they make me feel by the end, there’s not much science behind it. Here’s a breakdown of what I’ve read this year:

Recommend a book for me in the comments below!
Ahh I thought verity was so good aswell! It’s the only Colleen Hoover I’ve ever read – and I was surprised at how great a thriller it was! Congrats on surpassing your goal, what’s your Goodreads?! I don’t know if we’re already friends on it 😂 I’d definitely recommend that you read the A Good Girl’s Guide To Murder series, if you haven’t already!

I’m not usually into thrillers but loved Verity! Some of Colleen Hoover’s books are a miss, but not that one. Here’s my Goodreads! (Hopefully this works I feel like it’s so glitchy trying to add friends) https://www.goodreads.com/friend/i?invite_token=NzQwZDc2ZDQtMmIyNy00ZThlLWFlYTQtMWEwZDAwODA5MzY3

Buddhism For Beginners by Ken Christopher is a very, very good book about the history of the Buddha and describes ways on how to practice. It’s a short read and written in a very easy to understand format. 😊👍.

Some of the books you mentioned here are on my TBR list. Sad they are just on your 2-star list, but I am still going to read them 🌻
Good luck to us this year! 🌷
