The Hookup On: My First Blogger Event!

This weekend I went to my first blogger event at 2nd 2 None Studio in Hackensack, NJ! The studio was beautiful, I’ve never really been to a studio that had such a wide range of services. They had a wonderful makeup and hair area, multiple rooms that were gorgeously decorated for photoshoots, a room for podcast recording, and a room for videography. They also have a massive infinity wall that would be great for any photos! The space was really cool and I would highly recommend checking them out for any media needs you have if you’re in the area.

I had the opportunity to meet with some companies and YouTubers, bloggers, and influencers from New Jersey – which was awesome because NJ influencers aren’t easy to come by. We don’t have any major cities, so most NJ influencers identify with Philly and New York City instead of New Jersey.

I also got the chance to receive and test products from these companies:

  • Kiss Makeup
  • SaeHan
  • La Fresca
  • SmartCare
  • Nicka K Makeup
  • Unique Freak Hair Dye
  • Better Life Essential Oil
  • Colageno Perfecto
  • 207 New York Charcoal Mask

I really love the 207 New York Charcoal Mask, but I will warn you all that it’s a little painful to peel off! The Ienvy lashes by KISS are beautiful and seem very easy to apply, even for a beginner lash user like me! The La Fresca feminine hygiene products are very handy and smell great. Lastly, the Nicka K lip gloss is so fun and flirty, I can’t wait to wear it out!

All in all, the blogger event was great and I can’t wait for my next one! 🙂

I attended this event in exchange for an honest review, all opinions are mine.

Buying Cruelty Free: Wet N Wild Setting Spray

So I got a free sample of Urban Decay setting spray from Sephora once and didn’t start using it until a year later. Then I was unsure how I ever lived without a setting spray for my make up!!! Like it’s a must. And pretty inexpensive.

I read a post here that recommended Wet N Wild Photofocus Setting Spray. I just so happened to run out of that free sample at the time and basically went out and bought this the next day 🙂

I have been attempting to make my life as cruelty free as possible. As a vegetarian, I was completely unaware that most of my make up products were tested on animals. I just ignorantly believed that in 2016 most major companies wouldn’t see a need to test on animals anymore.

Is Wet N Wild cruelty free?: As a Peta-certified, cruelty-free brand, we’re proud to say we have never and will never test on animals. We also make it a point to work with cruelty-free, third-party vendors. wet n wild® loves our furry, scaly, and feathery friends!

They do also have a large listing of vegan products 🙂

I snagged this setting spray for $4.99 at Target. I do most of my make up shopping at drugstores because I’m pretty basic, but a lot of those drug store brands aren’t cruelty free so you need to be careful!

All in all, I love this setting spray! Keeps my face on during the work day and stops it from getting overly shiny and oily. It’s a big bottle for such a cheap price and I would definitely recommend!
