When stay at home orders first started, I was one of those people who was probably doing too much. I was trying to fill my time, trying new hobbies, working out more, working more, reading more, and just checking things off the list.
I was actively doing things to feel more productive. I would get ready in the morning, wake up a half hour before I had to log on to my computer, and enjoyed it all.
Unfortunately, now it just feels like the same old same old. When new things happen, even unfortunate ones like COVID-19, there’s this new burst of energy and change that motivates me.
I’ve lost all that energy. I don’t get dressed up for work in the morning, I barely get up when my alarm goes off, and I find myself crawling into bed at 7PM.
I’m hoping now that everything is opening up again, we can start to do some fun things in moderation and where we’re not exposing ourselves to large crowds. It’s really hard to focus on work when it’s all work and no play because everything is closed. Incorporating some more fun into my life might help. The opening orders couldn’t have come at a better time because I have no idea where all my motivation and productivity went.
